1000 uur
Date: 2005
Materials: resin, Osram light bulbs
The initial light form was created during a funny experiment. This first object lasted only a
few hours, but the beautiful shining of the highly polished resin made a lasting
impression. You buy one, you get 10! Because the temperature of this light forms stays
low it’s possible to place them like a candle on a sill or bookshelf, without worrying
about curtains or books.
The name of the lamp comes from the standard lifecycle of an incandescent lamp -->
1000 hours. Due to a lot of research this light form will last over 20.000 hours (20 years
of burning, 3 hours a day). ‘1000 hours’ is really an ode to the incandescent lamp in an
era of Fluorescent, LED and Neon lighting.
